Sexual Assault Statistics 

According to the Criminal Victimization, 2018 by the U.S. Department of Justice: 
  • The rate of rape/sexual assault increased by 1.3 victimizations per 1,000 persons from 2017 to 2018.  The data increase is as follows: 393,980 rape/sexual assaults with a rate of 1.4 victimizations per 1,000 in 2017 to 734,630 rape/sexual assault with a rate of 2.7 per 1,000 persons in 2018. That is an 86% increase [(734,630-393,980)/393,980] in the number of rape/sexual assault victimization in the United States from the year 2017 to 2018.
